VEHICLE NOTES

This 1987 BMW M6 is a highly documented, enthusiast-owned example that underwent a comprehensive restoration by Korman Autoworks, completed in 2018. Finished in its factory Royalblau Metallic over a tan Highline leather interior, this desirable sunroof-equipped M6 now shows 138,741 miles, with approximately 18,000 miles added since the restoration.

The restoration was completed at approximately 120,000 miles and included extensive mechanical, cosmetic, and preventative work by one of the nation's premier BMW restoration specialists. Since completion, the car has been enjoyed exclusively during the summer months and stored each winter in a climate- and pest-controlled facility, preserving its exceptional condition.

Accompanying the sale is an extensive documentation file that includes Korman Autoworks restoration invoices totaling more than $100,000 in restoration work, additional maintenance records, and continued service history retained by The Little Speed Shop.

Exterior

Finished in its original Royalblau Metallic, as confirmed by the factory paint code, the exterior presents beautifully with excellent gloss, straight body panels, and consistent panel fit. During the restoration, the car received extensive body and paint work along with numerous OEM trim, weather seals, lighting components, and exterior details. Brightwork, glass, and trim all reflect the high standard of the restoration, resulting in a striking presentation worthy of BMW's flagship grand touring coupe.

Interior

The cabin features the desirable Highline leather interior, extending rich tan leather throughout the dashboard, center console, door panels, and seating surfaces. The interior retains the timeless E24 grand touring character while benefiting from extensive restoration work that included reupholstered seats and panels, a recovered leather dashboard, restored center console, rear package tray, and numerous refinished interior components. A factory power sunroof further enhances the driving experience.

Powertrain & Chassis

Power is provided by BMW's legendary 3.5-liter S38 DOHC inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. As part of the Korman Autoworks restoration, the engine received a comprehensive rebuild while the chassis underwent extensive refurbishment, including suspension, braking, cooling, fuel, air conditioning, electrical, and driveline systems. Since completion, approximately 18,000 miles have been accumulated over eight summer driving seasons, with regular maintenance and proper winter storage ensuring the car remains exceptionally well sorted.

Documentation

Included with the sale is an extensive history file containing Korman Autoworks restoration documentation, engine rebuild invoices, additional maintenance records, and service history retained by The Little Speed Shop. This comprehensive documentation provides a clear record of the car's restoration and ongoing stewardship.

Seller's Notes

The BMW E24 M6 has become one of the most sought-after analog M cars of its era. Finding an original-color example is increasingly uncommon. Finding one restored by Korman Autoworks, equipped with the desirable Highline interior and factory sunroof, and accompanied by an extensive history file is rarer still.

This M6 has been enthusiast owned, meticulously maintained, properly stored, and thoughtfully preserved throughout its life. It represents an outstanding opportunity to acquire one of BMW's most iconic grand touring cars in exceptional cosmetic and mechanical condition.
